Who I am

This website is operated by Lead Web Studio ("I", "me", "we"), a web design studio based at 18 Cedarcroft Blvd., North York, Ontario, M2R 2Z2, Canada. You can reach me at info@leadlls.com or +1 (647) 563-9114.

I handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What I collect, and why

1. Information you give me directly

Contact form — your name, email, phone (if you provide it) and your message. Used only to reply to your enquiry and quote your project.
Free website audit — your name, email, optional phone, and the website address you submit. Used to run the audit, email you the report, and follow up once with my recommendations.
Payments — if you pay online, your card details are entered directly into Stripe and are never seen, handled or stored by me. I only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, plus the amount and your email.
Client work — if you hire me, whatever content you send me for your project (text, images, logins you choose to share).

2. Information collected automatically

Google Analytics 4 — pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived. IP addresses are anonymised by Google. Used to understand which pages are useful.
Advertising pixels — if you arrive from an ad, a small script from the advertising platform records that visit and whether it led to an enquiry. I currently use the OpenAI (ChatGPT Ads) pixel and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. These platforms may use the data for ad measurement under their own privacy policies.
Server logs — standard web-server records (IP address, time, page requested) kept by the hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and similar technology

This site uses cookies and similar identifiers for two things only: analytics (understanding traffic) and advertising measurement (knowing whether an ad produced an enquiry). There are no cookies used to build advertising profiles on this site beyond what the platforms named above do.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — the site will still work. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and adjust ad personalisation in your Google and Meta account settings.

Who else can see your information

I do not sell your personal information, and I never will. I share it only with the service providers needed to run this business:

Google — Analytics, and Google Workspace / Gmail, which delivers the email sent from this site's forms.
Meta and OpenAI — advertising measurement, as described above.
Stripe — payment processing.
My hosting provider — stores the website and its logs.

I may also disclose information if required by Canadian law.

Where your information is stored

The website is hosted in Canada. Some of the providers above (Google, Meta, OpenAI, Stripe) process data on servers outside Canada, including the United States, and may therefore be subject to the laws of those countries.

How long I keep it

Enquiries and audit requests — up to 24 months, so I can follow up and keep a record of what was quoted.
Client project records and invoices — as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (generally 7 years in Canada).
Analytics data — retained by Google under its own schedule (currently 14 months).

How I protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are delivered over authenticated, encrypted email. Configuration files containing credentials are blocked from web access at the server level, and payment details never touch my server. No system is perfectly secure, but I do not keep more personal information than I need, and I do not store card numbers at all.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you can, at any time:

Ask what personal information I hold about you;
Ask me to correct anything that is wrong;
Ask me to delete it (unless I am legally required to keep it, e.g. invoices);
Withdraw your consent to marketing follow-up.

Email info@leadlls.com and I will action it within 30 days at no cost. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

The free website audit — a specific note

The audit tool only fetches the public homepage of the address you enter, exactly as any visitor or search engine would. It does not attempt to log in, does not scan for vulnerabilities, and does not access anything that is not publicly available. Please only submit a website you own or are authorised to check.

Children

This site is aimed at business owners and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If I change how information is handled, I will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
