Physiotherapy Clinic Website Design in Ontario

An Ontario physiotherapy clinic website is written under four rules most visitors never see: a title the Physiotherapy Act reserves, two College of Physiotherapists standards that changed in 2025, and an auto-insurance limit. My physiotherapy clinic website design starts from those four, because each one decides a specific part of the site.

Physiotherapy Act, 1991, s. 8Only College members may use the title physiotherapist or physical therapist, or a variation or abbreviation. Fines up to $25,000, then $50,000 (s. 10).

What makes a physiotherapy website different from other clinic websites?

The patient’s first question is about money, and in Ontario there are three answers. Some patients qualify for OHIP-funded physio at a clinic on the Ministry of Health’s list, people hurt in a car accident are covered through auto insurance, and everyone else pays privately or through extended health. The site has to sort them before it describes treatments.

Publicly funded physiotherapy is for Ontario health card holders who are 65 or older, 19 or under, recently discharged after an overnight hospital stay or day surgery, or on Ontario Works or ODSP (no card needed for those two). The Ministry’s own list of publicly funded clinic locations had 255 sites when I counted it for the Sarnia page. Source for eligibility: ontario.ca.

Which cities do you build physiotherapy websites in?

Anywhere in Ontario; I work remotely and the rules above are province-wide. Each city page below is written from that city’s own figures, such as how many publicly funded sites it has, because that changes which page of the clinic’s site matters most.

Have you built a physiotherapy clinic website before?

No, and I would rather say it here than let a portfolio imply it. The closest is BridgeMinds Psychology in Toronto, a practice regulated by its own Ontario college, where I designed and hand-coded a site built around registered practitioners, plain-language service pages and a private booking request. That structure transfers to a physio clinic.

A regulated health practice in Toronto

What carries over: practitioner cards that show a registered title, service pages that describe an assessment without promising a result, and forms with no third-party trackers on what a patient types. What is new for a physio clinic is the routing by funding stream, the fee schedule page and the auto-insurance page. Read the psychotherapy website design case study or the medical clinic case study.

Price and timeline are the same as every build on this site: $899 to $2,999 one time, live in 5 to 7 days once content is ready. See packages and pricing.

Common questions

Can Ontario physiotherapy clinics use patient reviews on their website?+

Yes. Since 1 May 2025 the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario’s Advertising and Marketing Standard allows testimonials that are true, verifiable and accurate, written by real patients and not paid for or written by staff. Likes, stars and ratings are also acceptable. A patient’s informed consent is needed before their name, photo or health information is used.

Can a clinic say it is the best physiotherapy clinic in town?+

No. The 2025 standard prohibits claims of superiority and comparative statements about other providers. The College’s guidance gives “the best in the city” as an example of what is not allowed and says describing your own practice as offering “the best care possible” is acceptable.

Does a physiotherapy clinic need a fee schedule on its website?+

The College’s Funding, Fees and Billing Standard, in force since 1 August 2025, requires a comprehensive written fee schedule for each funding stream to be given to the patient before any fee applies. It does not name the website, but publishing the schedule there means every patient can read it before booking.

Who can be called a physiotherapist on a clinic website?+

Only members of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Section 8 (1) of the Physiotherapy Act, 1991 reserves the titles physiotherapist and physical therapist, including variations, abbreviations and equivalents in other languages, and section 10 sets fines of up to $25,000 for a first offence and $50,000 for a later one.

How much does a physiotherapy clinic website cost?+

$899 to $2,999 one time, the same range as every build on this site, and it goes live in 5 to 7 days once content is ready. The variable is how many condition pages are written at launch. Clinic management software and patient portals are outside what I build; the site links to the booking system the clinic already uses.
